It's been a really really long time since the last i wrote anything on my blog. Therefore, i would like to take this opportunity to write about my enjoyment of being a father for the first time as it signify another step in my life.
I will start with the moment i woke up at 5am early in the morning of June 9th 2014. I was awoken by my wife Christine when she told me she saw blood in her underwear and it was time to deliver the baby. I straight away woke up and off we go to the hospital. As the hospital was just 15 minutes away from our house, we reached there about 5.30am. We straight went into the "Dewan Bersalin" aka labour hall as we were told by our gynae previously that we should go straight to the labour hall if my wife had any symptom of delivery.
Once we reached the labour hall, i was told to register for my wife's hospital admission while she was examined by the standby doctor there. My wife felt that her water bag had burst as she felt the fluid started dripping. The nurse there told us they had already called our gynae Dr. Roslan about our case and he was on his way. In the meantime, we were guided to our room in level 5 and my wife was told to lie on the bed while they examine her. It was already 8.30am by the time we reached the room.
We waited for Dr. Roslan to come and he finally show up around 11 plus. In between the time, i went back to my house to freshen up myself and brought the thermos flask so that easier to get hot water from the nurses. Dr. Roslan advised us to go for cesarean if my wife did not have any contraction within the 12 hours which is around 5.30pm that day. He said it is not good for the baby if the amniotic fluid has gone dry. We agreed with the doctor's advise and he left the room.
Time really moved very fast that day, a blink of an eye, it's already 5.30pm. Dr. Roslan came again and we decided it has to be cesarean to deliver the baby. So, all the preparation was done before my wife being sent to the operation room at 7.30pm and i was told to wait at the hall for the baby arrival. I was really nervous that time and my heart was beating twice as fast that day. At 8.30pm, i saw Dr. Roslan came out from the operation room and i quickly grab hold of him to ask how my wife and baby were doing. He said everything was fine and mother and baby were in good health although the baby's weight was a bit low at 2 plus kg and she has to be observed inside the operation room together with my wife. Although he did ask me to wait at the room at level 5 as they will bring her back to the room later on, i insist to stay at the hall to wait for my wife and baby.
At 10pm, both my wife and the baby were pushed out by the nurse and that particular time was my first glance looking at my own daughter. I was really touched and thank god for giving me a lovely baby girl which i always dreamt of having one. At that time, i just realize that i have become a father of a lovely baby girl and how great the feeling it was for me at that moment.
